An international assignment can benefit a professional’s career and enrich their personal life but only if they can use their social competence to be successful. But along with high potential reward, there is also great risk. Failure for an expatriate can lead to career jeopardy and a great deal of stress on the family, even separation or break-ups. Repatriates face an additional mental and emotional challenge when they return home and see that they have trouble “fitting back in” professionally and personally.

My coaching conversations are client-led conversations; I believe in building self-awareness of a client’s strengths as a means to achieve objectives.

I bring 20 years of professional and personal expatriate experience to our relationship with the goal of making you productive faster at work and adjust quicker to your host culture. I bring understanding and empathy to my clients’ unique situations because we have both travelled the same road.

How

I believe in outcomes based conversations. We determine desired outcomes at the start of our conversation and end with follow up steps. I also believe in client-led conversations. A client achieves his/her objectives through utilizing their own personal strengths. Our conversations have been both professional and personal – sessions devoted to working in and managing different cultures as well as the added challenge of the family’s inability to adjust to a new city, school or lifestyle.
